Did Scientology Turn Bella & Connor Against Nicole Kidman? Sep 6th 2012, 17:07 Co-parenting after a divorce is tough for most people. But after Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman split in 2001, it seemed their two kids – then 8-year-old daughter Isabella and Connor, then 6 – had no contact at all with their Oscar-winning mother. Maureen Orth’s investigative cover story in the new issue of Vanity Fair alleges that members of Tom’s Church of Scientology turned the young kids against their mom. “The central problem [in the marriage] was Nicole did not want to deal with Scientology,” former high-ranking Scientologist Marty Rathbun states. After Nicole left the marriage, she was labeled a “Suppressive Person” — a spiritually toxic person to be avoided — with members of the Church brainwashing this idea into the kids, sources claim. “They rejected Nicole — they’ve been instructed,” claims John Brousseau, who was a Scientologist for 32 years and the former bodyguard and brother-in-law to church leader David Miscavige. Bella and Connor were home schooled, and accompanied their famous father on auditing sessions. The kids were taught how to recognize an “S.P.,” Rathbun and Brousseau both tell the mag. “They took a course, P.T.S./S.P., Potential Trouble Source/Suppressive Person, for persons connected in their lives who are an S.P.,” Brousseau says. “[Bella and Connor] whispered to me, ‘J.B., Nicole is an S.P.! Our mom’s an S.P. — we hate going and seeing her.’” Sources also claim that the world of Scientology “hated” Nicole. “The Scientology world hated Nicole,” Brousseau claims. “People in Sea Org were mandated to see every freaking Tom Cruise movie that came out. But if you ever mentioned an inkling to see a movie with Nicole, oh my God, you’d hear about it.” The Church of Scientology denies all claims by Vanity Fair. “The entire story is hogwash,” the Church states. Tom and third wife Katie Holmes finalized their divorce last month. Many have speculated that Scientology is to blame for the shocking and abrupt split between the high-profile couple.
